Jordi Lafon (Barcelona, Spain)

A visual artist who graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, a founder member, with Eva Marichalar-Freixa, of Deriva Mussol. He regularly collaborates with the University of Vic and the School of Art and Design in Vic. He is an executive member of PAAC (Plataforma Assembleària d’Artistes de Catalunya), where he works in the commission of education. He also cooperates with ACVic, Centre for Contemporary Arts as a vocal member of H, Association for
Contemporary Arts in Vic.
His works establish a connection between objects, people and the environment to create a material narrative in space and time, within a landscape which creates the context for actions that trigger relationships of affection and conflict, poetry and politics. He often organises his works as archives or collections, from which qualities such as order, disorder, cadence, chance and chaos emerge.
Projects such as Caminants, Bales dins d’un marge, I Love La Mina, Els bastons d’Andrés, Relleus, Caminar amb el pare, Marges i Fronteres, Deriva Mussol, Goula. Projecte d’art, joc i memòria, Encontre, Com una Cadira and Criss-Crossing, encourage participation and collaboration in, for example, walking as an aesthetic practice, drawing, photography and writing, as mutual learning experiences.
